About us

Thrive is set up by Funding London, a venture capital company bridging the finance gap for early stage businesses based in London. With over a decade’s experience in supporting the startups of London through a variety of funding vehicles, Funding London sensed a need to illuminate the ever-evolving scenario of London’s early stage businesses.

Thrive features interviews with and opinion from budding entrepreneurs, investors and industry experts. A mix of contributors from all areas of the industry is desired in order to spark genuine discussion about ongoing critical issues. While it showcases the effectiveness of successful ventures, it also encourages sharing lessons learned from missteps and unsuccessful projects.

Recruitment going digital!

The world is going digital and this trend is being closely followed by recruiters. Data is growing faster than ever before and by the year 2020, about 1.7 megabytes of new information will be created every second for every human being on the planet. A great deal of this data will be utilised by recruiters to gain a greater understanding of each candidate. Like it or not this means the recruitment landscape will be shifting significantly over the next few years and recruiters will have to become more adaptable and fast paced to keep up with the demands of employers and employees alike. We are in a time that recruitment becomes more and more surrounded by technology, a focus on interaction must be prioritised. People who apply to roles these days are already lacking any interaction with humans until the very late stages of a recruitment cycle where an interview by phone or in person takes place. Thus recruiters must find alternative ways to interact with potential employees, the real question however is how? My guess is you will see a number of platforms hit the market very soon to help target the younger generations who don’t agree with the standard styles of recruitment. Here at Skill Rail we are attempting to change the landscape of recruitment for students by making the experience easy and personable. We don’t believe that a student is just some facts and figures on a page, rather their skill set is what’s important.
