These startups, who aim to give you an adventure without leaving the UK, have seen huge growth over the last 12 months.

Eola
Eola helps it’s users find and book adventure sports online. This online platform offers a huge amount of offers. You can find anything from surfing activities to diving and horse-riding. With the ongoing surge in staycations, eola saw is client grow 5x over the last year.

Founded: 2018
Most recent funding: In April, eola closed a funding round of €2.3 million which was lead by Pentech Ventures and Techstars. Eola will use the further funding to expand their technology, team and commercial footprint.

Much Better Adventures
Much Better Adventures offers small group adventure holidays for a quick weekend or longer. The online platfrom allows it’s users to join a social trip or go private. MBA is all about helping like-minded outdoorsy people on our scheduled adventure holidays or go private and split the bill with ease.

Most recent funding: In April 2021 MBA quickly surpassed its £800,000 crowd funding goal on Seedrs. The investments raised through their most recent fundraising round will go towards continuing the development of Much Better Adventures’ platform and products.

HouseTrip
HouseTrip is one of Europe’s largest holiday rental booking websites. In 2016 this London-based holiday rentals firm was acquired by TripAdvisor in an undisclosed deal. Since HouseTrip was funded it has landed more than $60 million in funding.

Citymapper
Citymapper uses data to help people better navigate cities. The app Instantly allows its users to compare their travel options in real-time for all urban mobility.

Most recent funding: Since Citymapper was founded it has raised £45m funding from VCs. Its most recent fundraising campaign on crowdcube, which had a target of £1 million, was oversubscribed; raising over 6 million in total.
